How to Reduce Lag on PS5 and Xbox Series X

Console Network Optimization
Consoles often rely on Wi-Fi by default, but there are several settings and tweaks you can use to improve performance on your PS5 or Xbox Series X.
1. Change DNS Settings
Sometimes the default ISP DNS is slow. Try switching to:
- Cloudflare: Primary 1.1.1.1, Secondary 1.0.0.1
- Google: Primary 8.8.8.8, Secondary 8.8.4.4
2. Use 5GHz Wi-Fi (if wireless)
If you must use Wi-Fi, ensure you are connected to the 5GHz band, not the 2.4GHz band. It offers faster speeds and less interference, though it has shorter range.
3. Port Forwarding
Opening specific ports for your console can change your NAT type to "Open" (Xbox) or "Type 1/2" (PlayStation), which improves matchmaking and connection stability.
4. The "Game Mode" on Your TV
This doesn't affect network lag, but it reduces input lag significantly. Always ensure your TV is in Game Mode when playing to minimize the delay between pressing a button and seeing the action.
